Daytona Beach, FL- The occupants of a Daytona Beach home are uninjured after an early morning fire gutted the front room of the home. Daytona Beach firefighters responded to a two-story structure fire in the 1300 block of N. Shangri-La Drive just after 1 a.m. Firefighters said that flames were shooting through the roof when they arrived. Five adults, two children, three dogs, and a bird were in the home when the fire started and got out of the house before firefighters arrived on scene. It's being reported that one dog and the bird did not survive. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family. The State Fire Marshal is working to investigate the cause but they do not believe it is suspicious.
