After The Hurricane: Curfews Lifted, Government Agencies Reopen

Daytona Beach, FL - Though windy, rainy conditions continue, it's back to business at many places tomorrow, (September 5) with everything expected to be back to normal by Friday (September 6).

In Volusia County: The Citizens Information Center will remain open thru Friday, Sept. 6th from 8:00 am 5:00 PM. Residents can call 866-345-0345.

Volusia County Council meeting and budget hearing, originally scheduled for Sept. 3, have been rescheduled for Sept. 17.

Volusia County Schools has closed the shelters with school reopening on Friday, September 6. All school-related activities both on and off-campus are canceled through Thursday. Athletic competitions remain canceled for Thursday and Friday and Saturday.

Daytona Beach: City offices reopen tomorrow (September 5). Trash collection returns to regular routes tomorrow.

Daytona Beach International Airport: Airport operations resume tomorrow (September 5) Customers should contact their airline directly for questions regarding their flight.

Daytona State College reopens Friday (September 6) morning for all scheduled classes and activities, including online classes.

DeLand: City offices are expected to reopen tomorrow (September 5). This week's canceled City Commission meeting is rescheduled for next Wednesday, September 11.

Stetson University officials expect to reopen on tomorrow (September 5), in the afternoon. Classes will resume onFriday. Students, faculty, and staff have been alerted.

Edgewater: City offices (including City Hall) reopen at 11:00 AM tomorrow (September 5. Household trash pickup, Thursday and Friday pickups will be as usual. Recycling pick-up on Thursday and Friday will get picked up on their usual schedule. Homes regularly scheduled for recycling pick-up on Monday and Tuesday will resume the normal schedule next week.

New Smyrna Beach: City offices are expected to reopen tomorrow (September 5). Trash collection returns to regular routes tomorrow.

Ormond Beach: City offices reopen tomorrow (September 5). Trash collection returns to regular routes tomorrow.

Port Orange: City offices reopen tomorrow (September 5). Trash collection returns to regular routes tomorrow.

In Flagler County: The evacuation and curfew orders for zones A, B, and F was lifted at 12:05 p.m. today (September 4).

County government offices open for normal business tomorrow (Sep[tember 6), including the Library. Garbage collection returns to normal service tomorrow. Yard waste will be collected Saturday, as Wednesday’s collection was missed

Flagler Schools back in session on Friday, September 6. Damage to Flagler Schools campuses was minimal and can be repaired over the coming days.

The Flagler Pier remains closed until a structural engineer can assess its integrity. There will be no lifeguards at the beach today September 5) or tomorrow (September 5).
