Accused Carjacker On Trial In Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach, FL-A 24-year-old man is on trial this week, accused of carjacking one driver and trying to carjack another while using a firearm.

Other charges against Kenneth Kirkland are possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, grand theft and the use of a firearm during a robbery. Police say Kirkland and another man, Keandre Ponder, committed the crimes in August of 2015.

If convicted, Kirkland faces a minimum of 10 years on each charge but could spend the rest of his life in prison.
