AAA: Month Straight Of Falling Gas Prices In Florida

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL -We've now had a month straight of falling gas prices in the Sunshine State, including in the Daytona Beach area, but that might soon change.

A new AAA report shows the state average is $2.70 per gallon of regular unleaded gas, six cents less than last week and 21 cents cheaper than last month. It's also 15 cents cheaper than the national average of $2.85.

AAA is also reporting that oil prices seem to be creeping up again despite OPEC raising production levels worldwide, and spokesperson Mark Jenkins says that might put a temporary stop to the decline.

"This news could bring some volatility back to the pumps this week," Jenkins added. "Gas prices could rise a couple pennies or simply level out. Anything more than that would require crude to make additional gains this week."

Volusia County drivers are currently looking at $2.70 per gallon of regular unleaded gas at the pumps, similar to the state average and five cents less than last week.

In Flagler, motorists are looking at $2.75 per gallon of regular unleaded gas, two cents less than last week's average but still five cents more than the state average.

The most expensive gas price in the state of Florida right now is in Miami at $2.85 a gallon and the lowest is the Tampa area at $2.58.
