DeLand, FL-There are two big retirements on the agenda for Volusia County Council when it meets Thursday, but what's not mentioned on the agenda are three councilmen saying goodbye. County Council Chairman Jason Davis will gavel his final meeting. He lost his reelection bid to Ed Kelley. County Councilman Josh Wagner is leaving. He is term-limited after eight years on council. Billie Wheeler won his seat in the November election. Thursday will be the final meeting for Councilman Doug Daniels who decided not to seek reelection. His seat will be filled by Heather Post. Daniels will be out of town and not at the meeting. The two retirements on the agenda are Sheriff Ben Johnson and Property Appraiser Morgan Gilreath. Johnson is retiring after 16 years in that office and more than 40 years in county law enforcement.  Gilreath retires after over 30 years in county government. County Council meets Thursday morning at 9 AM in DeLand. 2016 Southern Stone Communications Copyright
