DeLand, FL-It's a sure sign of fall when the 72nd annual Volusia County Fair and Youth Show begins Thursday with free gate admission. The fair runs November 3 through 13 each day. Fair General Manager Ronnie Hull says Hurricane Matthew did some damage to some signs, but there was no major damage at the fairgrounds. Hull emphasizes that the fair is a great value and, he says, a family of four can go to the fair for less than going to a movie theater. Hull talks lovingly of the animal, agriculture and crafts areas. There are over 700 exhibits in the livestock barn, more than 300 in the horticultural area and almost 4,000 in the craft exhibits which includes everything from baked goods and quilts to photography. For hours and more information a link is here. The fairgrounds is at 3150 E. New York Avenue in DeLand. 2016 Southern Stone Communications Copyright
