Holly Hill, FL - Holly Hill Police have arrested 69-year-old Wynine Huggins in relation to a vehicular homicide that happened in April of this year.
Officers arrested Huggins in April after he hit Brian Collins. who was riding his bicycle on U.S. 1 near 2nd Street at the time, ejecting him and sending him about 92 feet, according to the police report. Collins did not survive his injuries
Video surveillance determined Huggins was traveling at an excessive rate of speed. Using a speed measurement formula, it was determined that Huggins was traveling about 69 mph when he hit Collins.
In the aftermath, officers reported that Huggins admitted drinking multiple beers prior to the incident. They also found a baggie with with residue that tested positive for cocaine.
Huggins is being held in the Volusia county Jail on a $50,000 bond.
