Suspect In Deltona Carjacking & Ormond Shooting Arrested

DeLand, FL - The unnamed suspect in a Dec. 5, 2018 carjacking in Deltona is in custody after a second search warrant in the case was issued on Thursday.  Volusia County Sheriff's deputies say that's the not the only crime they believe 19-year-old Kevin Gaines is involved in. VCSO deputies arrested Gaines Thursday and believe that he was involved in a Nov. 10 shooting in Ormond Beach at the Skate and Shake skating rink. Ormond Beach police are looking for the gunman is a shooting that took place at the Skate and Shake skating rink. VCSO analysts in the Volusia County Crime Center identified Gaines' Instagram account, which contained several videos of him waving around guns.  Gaines is facing charges from the OBPD; discharging a firearm from a vehicle, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon or delinquent and criminal mischief. Sheriff's detectives are also charging Gaines in the DeLand carjacking.  He remains in VCBJ on a total of $71,000 bond, stemming from the charges for the crime in Deltona and the one in Ormond Beach. The search continues for the other two suspects in the carjacking, 21-year-old Ruben Morales and 20-year-old Damion Prince.  Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1.
