Daytona Beach, FL - Three people are in custody after a high speed chase which saw a woman try to run a Daytona Beach Police Department officer over with a car and a wanted man tased by police after he allegedly hit two patrol cars. That's the word from DBPD after yesterday afternoon's incident in the Midtown area. It all started when two Daytona Beach police officers went to a residence on Jefferson Street around 2:45 p.m. to serve a felony warrant on charges of cocaine possession and fleeing & eluding, according to the incident report. DBPD says the door was answered by 22-year-old Terricka Warren. Moments later, the man named in that warrant - 28-year-old Jeremy Jones (above) - left the home on foot after initially not being able to exit the residence from the back door. Police gave chase on foot throughout the neighborhood until Warren got into a black Pontiac and, at Jones' cue, waited for him to get into the vehicle before taking off south on Jefferson, per the report. That's when DBPD says she nearly ran down an officer who was still on foot, with the officer being forced to jump out of the way at the final second. From there, officers say Jones got out of the Pontiac on the 900 block of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard and got into a blue Chrysler, but then got right back out when police blocked it from moving. That's when Warren got out of the black Pontiac and Jones got into the driver's seat, leaving the scene. DBPD took Warren into custody there, while Jones was apprehended a few minutes later after crashing into two police vehicles blocking his path on Cedar Highlands Boulevard, causing at least $10,000 in damage to the patrol cars. The third person arrested - 18-year-old Nakia Warren - reportedly arrived on scene in a vehicle and kicked and yelled at a police officer while trying to take Terricka's phone as she was being arrested. The two are sisters, according to the incident report. Jones was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries before going to Volusia County Jail.
