Deltona, FL - A man's wife faces assault charges after threatening him with an iron shovel.

Monday morning (March 11th), the Volusia County Sheriff's Office was called to a home off Hanford Drive in Deltona after getting reports of a domestic disturbance.

There, a deputy met with an 81-year-old man who said his wife, 31-year-old Elizabeth Turner, had threatened him and yelled at him.

According to his narrative, he was sitting on the sofa in his living room when Turner began to argue with him for not giving her money.

He said that she got angry and grabbed a two foot long iron fire shovel and pointed it at his face.

She began to yell at him and swung the shovel at a plastic bag he was holding in his hand while he was sitting on the sofa. He managed to push Turner away to prevent her from hitting him with the shovel.

Turner told deputies that she did get into an argument with her husband and her husband threatened to call the police. That's when she grabbed the shovel and stood over him, pointing the shovel at his face.

She said she told him if he called the police she would be "going for a reason."

Turner went on to tell deputies that she was "going to bust him till the white meat shows." Deputies asked what she meant by that and she stated she was going to hit him hard on the head.

A look at her criminal history showed that she had 20 prior felony charges with two convictions and 11 misdemeanor charges with three convictions.

VCSO also found another domestic disturbance call involving Turner from 2018, where she was arrested for battery on 65-year-old.

Turner was charged with aggravated assault on a person over 65-years-old. Jail records show that she was processed at Volusia County Jail, but is no longer in custody.
