3 People Hospitalized After Being Struck By Lightning At Smyrna Dunes Park

New Smyrna Beach, FL - Three people had to be taken to the hospital after they were struck by lightning at Smyrna Dunes Park last night. New Smyrna Beach police say they responded to the beachfront park, located at 2995 North Peninsula Avenue in New Smyrna Beach at around 7:30 p.m. last night. A witness said that a woman and two men were struck by lightning on the beach. According to police reports, the woman who was struck was "slumped over on the beach yelling in pain for help." One of the men who was hit by the lightning had to be revived by CPR. The three people were attended to by Beach Safety officials, and they were taken to Florida Hospital New Smyrna Beach for medical attention.
