3 Candidates Left In Ormond's Search For New Police Chief

Ormond Beach, FL - The city of Ormond Beach has narrowed the field down to three candidates in its search for a new police chief.

The city held a public event on Monday so that residents could meet Robert "Jesse" Godfrey, Vince Pryce, and Jason Umberger, the final three candidates in Ormond's search for a new police chief.

Captain Godfrey has been working for the Ormond Beach Police Department since 2011 and was an officer in an earlier stint at the department from 1988 to 1989. He retired from the Daytona Beach Police Department in 2011 after 21 years on the force. He currently lives in Ormond Beach.

Price is the Deputy Chief of Police for the Melbourne Police Department, where he's worked since 1987. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1981 to 2003 and was on active duty from 1981 to 1984. Price lives in Melbourne.

Umberger is currently the Chief of Police for the Swatara Township Police Department in Harrisburg, PA. He was honorably discharged from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves. Umberger lives in Hershey, PA.
