VCSO: 2 Deputies Out Of Job For Soliciting Sex From Drug Court Participants

Posted

Volusia County, FL - Two Volusia County deputies are out of a job after investigators say they solicited sex for money from drug court participants. Deputy Bryan Barnett was asked to resign instead of being fired, and Deputy Jay Hawman was fired earlier this year as a result of the investigation. Reports show the two officers would also flirt with the women in drug court, and one drug court participant said Barnett would hand out his number to the women frequently. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) says while the men no longer work for the department, VCSO has not pursued any criminal charges against them. For more on this story head to WFTV.com.
