DeLand, FL - A 16-year-old pedestrian was injured early Monday morning when she ran into the path of a Volusia County Sheriff's Office patrol unit.
It was around 5:55 AM on August 28 when the teen ran into the intersection of W. New York Ave. and Stetson Park Dr. without noticing the approaching cruiser. The accident caused minor injuries to the girl who was brought to Florida Hospital DeLand as a precaution. The deputy wasn't injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene and they're expected to release additional information in the future.
