Palm Coast, FL – A 10-month-old girl is dead after drowning in a swimming pool at her family’s Palm Coast home on Thursday.

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) responded to a home in the 100 block of Edward Dr. in Palm Coast just after 4:30 PM on Thursday. A witness reported that the infant had possibly drowned in the pool. The infant reportedly crawled through an opening in a sliding glass door and then fell into the pool.

According to FCSO reports, CPR was performed on the 10-month-old, and the child was rushed to Florida Hospital Flagler, where she was pronounced dead.

FCSO says that the case is under investigation, which is standard procedure, but at this point, the drowning does appear to be accidental.
