VSO Investigating Ormond Beach Woman's Suspicious Death

Ormond Beach, FL - A well-being check on Wednesday afternoon at 62-year-old Elizabeth Crisanti's home on Orange Grove Drive in Ormond Beach found her deceased with "sharp force injuries." Volusia Sheriff's Office (VSO) deputies also found her boyfriend, 61-year-old Nelson Rivera, alive but unresponsive. Detectives say it appears he may have overdosed on prescription medication.

The well-being check was requested by a relative after Crisanti didn’t pick up her grandchildren from school. When there was no answer at the door of Crisanti's apartment, a relative provided a key to enter the home.

Rivera was transported to AdventHealth Hospital for medical treatment and had not yet regained consciousness as of Thursday morning.

The investigation is active and ongoing, and additional details will be provided as they become available.
