Deltona, FL -  A Volusia County deputy tases a drunk man after he became unruly at a pub during one of the Sheriff's Office's first calls of 2021.

The Volusia Sheriff's Office (VSO) was called out to the Bulldog Pub in Deltona just after 1:30 in the morning on New Year's Day in reference to a trespass. When the deputy arrived, she met with an employee who said a white male, later identified as 27-year-old Tyler Salzman, was extremely intoxicated.

The employee reportedly told Salzman that he had been cut off from drinks and asked him to sit down and calm down. Instead, Salzman took another drink from his friend's hand and began to drink it. That's when Salzman was told to leave, which he ignored.

Video from the incident—provided by VSO—shows the deputy approaching Salzman as he reaches for his waistband, telling the deputy to shoot him. The deputy asked him to not reach for his waistband, but Salzman continued to yell "shoot me." Salzman was also seen on video lifting his shirt as he proceeded to yell at the deputy.

As he tried to reach for his waistband again, Salzman was tased and subsequently arrested. Salzman was later charged with resisting arrest without violence. Records from Volusia County Corrections show Salzman is no longer in custody.
