Deltona, FL - A 20-year-old Deltona man ends up behind bars after authorities say he used a stolen credit card to buy items at a video game store where he had filled out a job application.

That credit card - along with the wallet it was in, a gun and ammunition - were taken from a truck parked at a home on East Normandy Boulevard over the weekend, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

It didn't take deputies long to tie Dylon Santana to that Saturday afternoon (March 16th) break-in, per VCSO spokesperson Laura Williams.

"The victim realized his truck had been burglarized when his credit card company notified him that his Discover card had been used for several purchases at GameStop and Target," Williams added. "There were no signs of forced entry and the victim said the truck may have been unlocked."

Investigators caught a big break when they went to the GameStop, according to Williams.

"The manager recalled a male using the Discover credit card to make four purchases," Williams noted. "In addition, the suspect used a membership card issued in his name. And the manager recalled the same male filled out a job application on March 4 to work at GameStop."

Some VCSO deputies and K-9 units spent the following day in the immediate area of the break-in searching for Santana and they eventually found him riding a bicycle, according to his arrest report. He was then taken into custody on charges of armed vehicular burglary, illegal use of a credit card and grand theft firearm.

Deputies also managed to find the stolen Discover card in Santana's possession but are still looking for the handgun, according to Williams.

Santana denied breaking into the vehicle but did admit to having the stolen credit card and using it, according to VCSO's arrest logs.

As of this afternoon, Santana remains locked up at Volusia County Jail on $45,000 bond.
