Daytona Beach, FL - A 59-year-old Lake Worth man was pronounced deceased this afternoon (September 12) after being found floating unconscious in the ocean in the 400 Block North The Beach in Daytona Beach.
Volusia County Beach Safety (VCBS) reports that the man had been boogie boarding when a family member, also in the water, noticed him floating in chest deep water. The victim was brought to shore where lifesaving efforts were performed by Beach Safety and Daytona Beach Fire Rescue personnel.
The man was transported to Halifax Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
