Bunnell, FL - Deputies stop and arrest a man after they find him with a woman that has an active no contact order against him. Then, things take a turn after he gets unruly and combative with deputies, all while he was being filmed.

Per a release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO), a deputy spotted 26-year-old Raymond Glass walking down US-1 with a woman that has an active no contact order against him. According to deputies, the injunction was put in place by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in New York in July 2020, and is not set to expire until July 2023.

This was known to the deputy who found Glass, as he accompanied the Bunnell Police Department during a call in January where Glass was arrested for violating the injunction.

After seeing Glass, the deputy turned his vehicle around and approached the pair. As the deputy approached, Glass began to speed up in an attempt to walk away from the victim. The deputy then asked Glass to come sit on the front of his patrol car while he tried to figure out who his probation officer was. That's when Glass began to argue with the deputy, saying that walking near the victim was not a violation of his probation—it is.

As law enforcement attempted to detain him in handcuffs, Glass began to clench his fists and struggle. After numerous commands to stop resisting, a deputy performed a leg sweep and took Glass to the ground. Once he was on the ground, Glass tried to roll over to resist being put in handcuffs. Eventually, Glass was placed in handcuffs.

In  a video of his arrest, Glass can be heard repeatedly threatening the deputies and officers on scene, shouting that he wanted to kick them and that he would kill them. The anger and rage didn't stop there.

As officers and deputies tried to search Glass, he became more enraged and slammed his own head on the frame of a patrol car, which ended up denting the vehicle. He also threatened to bite a deputy that was trying to search him, which is when deputies placed a spit hood over his head. Even then, Glass continued to resist law enforcement, which led deputies to place leg shackles around his ankles.

While searching Glass, deputies had to cut off a bandana he had tied around his neck because they couldn't untie it. After it was cut, Glass threatened to kill the deputy that removed it.

After he was finally secured in a patrol car, Glass also kicked the interior rear passenger door, which broke the latch on the door causing the door frame to bend. Deputies estimate that the total cost of damage to the vehicle is around $1,500.

"Our deputies showed great restraint while dealing with this guy who was trying to fight them and continually threatened to kill them," Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said. "He even went so far as to bang his own head into the patrol car while screaming ‘police brutality.’ This case is a great example of why our deputies wear body cameras and why we are implementing dashboard cameras across our fleet of patrol vehicles."

Glass was ultimately charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, assault on a law enforcement officer, threats to a law enforcement officer, criminal mischief over $1,000, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of resisting arrest. He is also facing an additional charge of violation of probation for violating his no contact order. He remains in jail with no bond.
