Daytona Beach, FL- The number of homes sold in the greater Daytona Beach area increased dramatically during the month of August. Ron Wysocarski, a broker with Wyse Home Team Realty, said it was a bit of a surprise with 476 existing single-family homes sold during the moth of August. He said that's 10 percent more than the number sold in August 2017. Wysocarski said the median sales price for last month was $230,750 which is about two percent more than last August. He said inventory was up from July to August and there are a lot more homes to choose from than there were in 2017. Year to date, median sales prices remain 7.3 percent higher than the first eight months of 2017. While sellers are getting more money for their homes, Wysocarski said buyers who have the money have a bigger selection. He said shifts in California dictate trends in Florida and with more inventory, it's advantage buyer.
