No-Cost School Immunizations Extended

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - Within a few weeks, Volusia County's students will be headed back to school. This means parents and guardians are starting to run out of time to make sure their student's shots are taken care of.

But, fear not, the Department of Health in Volusia County is extending their immunization hours for Volusia's youth. And, starting Tuesday (July 7th), evening and Saturday hours will be available on select days and at DOH Volusia locations.

In addition to their extended hours, immunization appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the weekdays at the four Health Department locations. You can find those locations at:

  • 1845 Holsonback Drive (Daytona Beach)
  • 421 South Keech Street (Daytona Beach)
  • 717 West Canal Street (New Smyrna Beach)
  • 775 Harley Strickland Boulevard (Orange City)

And, in order to follow social distancing guidelines, appointments are required for immunizations.

The Health Department also stated that parents and guardians must provide proof of immunizations for a child entering kindergarten or 7th grade. New students enrolling in Volusia County must also be current on immunizations.

Parents and guardians are also encouraged to bring shot records with them when requesting immunizations.
