DeLand, FL - Reservations are now open for the City of DeLand and DeLand Breakfast Rotary Tree Give-Away. You can register online at delandfl.seamlessdocs.com. The form will ask if you are a DeLand resident because the trees are only available for residents within the DeLand Utility Service Area. You'll find the types of trees available when you fill out the form. Reservations are being taken through July 15, 2021.
Residents are asked to print their completed reservation form. If the type of tree requested or the time requested is not available, you'll be contacted to choose a different tree and/or time.
On the day of your appointment, you're asked to not arrive any more than 15 minutes early. You'll need to supply proof of residence. If you're picking up trees for someone else, you'll need a written request and a copy of that person's proof of residence. There's a limit of four trees per residence and up to eight per vehicle.
The dates for the giveaway are July 19, 20, and 21, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m at the city’s Public Works Complex, 1102 S. Garfield Avenue. When you go, enter the facility on the Garfield side and follow the signs to the giveaway area. To protect staff and volunteers, you should remain inside your vehicle while they load the trees. You're asked to observe CDC social distancing guidelines.
The city wants residents to know that while they hope to provide the exact tree type you would like, selection and quantities are limited and subject to change without notice.
