DeLand, FL - Registration is now open and required in order to be part of the Volusia County Schools (VCS) Summer Food Service Program. The program provides meals to children during the summer at no charge through the USDA Summer Food Service Program and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Since school ends Friday, June 4, there's a gap between the end of the regular school year and the start of summer programs.  You must register by tomorrow, June 3, to be eligible for a June 8 curbside pickup. Register at vcsedu.org. The distribution times are from 6:30 to 7 a.m.

Students attending VCS Summer Programs in-person will receive their breakfast and lunch meals at no charge at the school they are attending. For children under the age of 18 who are not on campus, families will need to register every week, between Tuesday morning and Thursday night for the following Tuesday’s pickup between 6:30 and 7 a.m.

The weekly curbside meal bundles have five breakfasts and five lunches.  Parents must show their ID when picking up meals, as well as a form of ID for each student requesting meals. Current student ID cards or birth certificates are accepted.

For the weeks of June 14 to July 29, the pickup sites for the weekly curbside meal service will be at these sites:
