HOLLY HILL, Fla. - One man is in custody after a shooting in Holly Hill that wounded one victim. 33-year-old Ormond Beach resident Christopher Hastings was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

According to police, Hastings was in an argument with the 44-year-old victim around 3:00 am at a mutual friend's house on Wednesday. The pair were at the 100 block of Harter Drive when the incident occurred. Hastings is accused of shooting the victim in the head.

The victim was hospitalized for his injuries in serious condition after first responders arrived, and police say they were able to identify and arrest Hastings within eight minutes of receiving the call. He was found in his vehicle on Ridgewood Ave, reportedly still in possession of the gun used in the shooting.

After being shot, the victim is said to have somehow walked himself to a friend's house in order to call for help. He was shot in the street outside the house, police say, before making his strenuous journey.

Hastings is currently being at the Volusia County Branch Jail on no bond for charges of attempted second degree murder, aggravated battery, tampering with evidence, and other unspecified crimes.
