One Week Left to Register To Vote For Port Orange Special Election

Port Orange, FL - A special election is scheduled for April 13, 2021, to elect a new District 1 Councilmember.  Dr. Marilyn Ford, elected in 2019, resigned in December 2020.  If you're a Port Orange resident who is not registered to vote and you'd like to vote in the election, you have until March 15, 2021, to do so.

Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Lisa Lewis says that all registered Port Orange voters can vote and mail-in voting will take place. "The ballots were mailed out on March 4. The last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot would be 5 o'clock on April 3, which is a Saturday so you can do it by email or online." There will be early voting for this election but you won't be able to do so in Port Orange. Lewis said the only spot for early voting is the Elections office in DeLand.

There are two candidates. One is currently serving as the interim  District 1 councilmemberJonathan Foley. The other candidate is Marcey Ann Kinney.
