One Dead in Daytona Shooting on Monday

UPDATE: The Daytona Beach Police Department has arrested 22 year-old Zion Counts in connection with the shooting. He's being charged with 1st Degree Premeditated Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted State Felon. His prior felony arrest came in 2020, when he was charged with Resisting an Officer w/ Violence.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - One man was killed in a shooting in Daytona Beach on Monday according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. The shooting is said to have occurred at around 1:13 pm, on Magnolia Avenue one block south of LPGA Blvd.

The victim was identified by police as being 26 year-old Timothy Seamore Jr. Multiple 911 calls were placed by residents who'd heard gunshots in the area, and responding officers discovered Seamore lying on the sidewalk. A woman screaming was also reported.

Seamore was pronounced dead at the scene, and police detectives immediately began looking for witnesses who could help paint a picture of what happened. His next of kin has been notified of the fatal shooting, but so far little else is known. The DBPD have not announced a suspect or a motive for the killing.
