One Arrested, One Wanted in DeLand-Area Murders

Posted

The Volusia Sheriff's Office has announced that its Major Case Unit has solved two homicides in the DeLand from 2022 and 2023, respectively. One suspect is in custody already, with another wanted for a $25,000 reward.

The first case was the December 2022 murder of Korey Woulard. The VSO says they used witness statements, cell phone data, and surveillance video to deduce that Woulard's co-parent Jasmoray Baugh followed him outside after an argument and shot him dead in the road. The murder took place at the 300 block of Chipola Ave. Baugh was arrested on Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder.

The second is a reiteration of an existing update by the VSO: Joel Alonzo-Cisneros has been charged with second-degree murder for the killing of his father-in-law Hector Hernandez-Pasquale in a front yard on Massachusetts Ave in DeLand. A $25,000 reward is being offered for anyone who may have information that leads to the arrest of Alonzo-Cisneros.

Those who have information on Alonzo-Cisneros' whereabouts are being asked to contact the Volusia Sheriff's Office's Major Case Unit at (386) 254-1537 or by emailing ColdCaseUnitTips@volusiasheriff.gov.
