New Smyrna Beach, FL - In celebration of Florida's Arbor Day, which is today, the city of New Smyrna Beach will give away several different species of trees to city residents with proof of residency tomorrow.

The trees are Bald Cypress, Southern Red Cedar, Southern Magnolia, Green Ash, Winged Elm, Dahoon Holly, and live oak trees. Milkweed seeds, a prime source of food for monarch butterflies, will also be distributed to honor the city's status as a Monarch City USA.

The giveaway takes place in front of the Utilities Commission Building on Canal Street as part of the 11th annual Home Show & Business Expo on Canal Street, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Members of Boy Scout Troop 72 and New Smyrna Beach Middle School's Future Farmers of America will be on hand to load your free tree right into your vehicle.
