Man Busted After Allegedly Counterfeiting Money From Inside Bunnell Home

Bunnell, FL - Flagler County deputies busted a man, who has an extensive criminal history, after he was allegedly counterfeiting from inside a home in Bunnell. Deputies caught up to 35-year-old Christopher Heath on Thursday at 2327 Water Oak Road in Bunnell after he tried to leave the property in a truck. As Heath tried to escape to the back of the building, Flagler County Sheriff's Office says he dropped some counterfeit money, and deputies arrested him. When deputies searched the home, they found evidence of a counterfeit money operation. After obtaining a search warrant, FCSO says they found multiple counterfeit bills and printing machines inside the home.

Heath had been arrested before for counterfeiting money. Less than a week before Heath's arrest on Thursday, he was stopped for a speeding violation while traveling east on Mahogany Road in western Flagler County. During the traffic stop, K-9 Marko indicated that deputies should search the car. FCSO says they found $600 in counterfeit bills, marijuana, and two computer printers in the back seat of the car used to print the counterfeit cash.

Heath's criminal history includes prior arrests for counterfeiting, assault, thefts, and burglary. Heath is currently being investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies in Volusia and Flagler counties.

Heath is being held at the Flagler County Inmate Detention Facility on a Volusia County warrant with a bond of $2500. The investigation is ongoing, and other charges are pending. “This is a career criminal who just can’t stay out of trouble,” says Flagler Sheriff Staly. “I’m proud of our deputies and the excellent work they did in arresting him when he tried to run. I want to make it clear to anyone thinking that they can commit a crime in one county and then hide in Flagler County that we are coming for you. Our agencies work together and you will be caught.” Photos courtesy FCSO. Copyright Southern Stone Communications 2018.
