Local Group Collecting Puzzles, Games For Deployed Soldiers

Posted

Ormond Beach, FL - A local group that helps current military and veterans, Ormond Strong, is asking for games, puzzles, Legos, anything to keep over 100 soldiers from the 164th ADA busy.  The 164th Air Defense Artillery Brigade is part of the Florida Army National Guard  based in Orlando.

The group says they were contacted with the request because "our deployed soldiers, who are overseas and scheduled to come home at a specific date, are now stuck overseas indefinitely due to the travel ban." When the current soldiers get to come home, they'll leave the toys and games behind with the USO for the troops who are replacing them.

Ormond Strong is asking you to check your closet old games, puzzles etc that you would like to get rid of,  contact us at 386-566-3685 or send an email to ormondstrong@gmail.com. They will pick up or have you drop-off during specific time periods.

If you'd like to buy something and have it sent, Ormond Strong says you can do so directly through AMAZON at no extra cost for shipping. Send a private message to the Ormond Strong Facebook page for an APO. The group is also suggesting homemade cards or letters from your children or yourself.  They'll be sent along with the games and puzzles.
