Volusia County, FL- Learn how to co-exist with Florida black bears during free programs at two Volusia County public library branches.

Stephannie Allen, education director for the Central Florida Zoo and

Botanical Gardens, will present “Bear Aware” workshops at 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center

Circle; and 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at the New Smyrna Beach Regional

Library, 1001 S. Dixie Freeway.

Williams will offer tips on how to co-exist with Florida black bears.

She’ll also discuss bear biology and explain what to do if you

encounter a bear and how to keep bears out of your neighborhood.
