Kittens Saved By DBPD Officers During Dorian

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - Two Daytona Beach Police officers saved two small creatures from the storm yesterday (September 4). Public Information Officer Messod Bendayan said two young kittens were found by a resident. They were stuck between a wooden fence and a chain-link fence separating two properties in the 600 block of Butler Boulevard (near North Wild Olive Avenue).

Around 7 p.m. last night, one of the responding officers managed to pull the kittens free by sticking his hand through the wooden fence and grabbing them. Other than being wet and stuck, they had no apparent injuries.

It's unclear how the kittens got stuck or how long they were there but it seems they may have been on their own during the storm. The officers looked for the mother cat but did not locate her.

Officers left the kittens in the care of the resident who called in about their plight.
