Fugitive Arrested During Flagler County Traffic Stop

Palm Coast, FL - A traffic stop in Flagler County leads to the arrest of a fugitive wanted for an October 2019 armed robbery in Palm Coast's "S" section.

Deputies with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) conducted the traffic stop Friday morning (October 2nd) and found that the driver, who FCSO identified as 19-year-old Zyniah Neal, was driving with a suspended license. In addition to Neal, there was a passenger in the vehicle, who initially gave a false name to law enforcement.

The investigating deputy then determined that the passenger was 21-year-old Jimari Baker. According to FCSO, deputies were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Baker, who was wanted for an October 24, 2019 robbery that took place in the "S" section of Palm Coast.

Per FCSO, Baker brandished a handgun during the incident and pointed it directly at the head of one of the juvenile victims. Baker's identity was concealed throughout the robbery—which was caught on video—but FCSO's investigation into the matter eventually identified Baker as the gun-wielding suspect.

“This guy has made bad decision after bad decision,” Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Today he continued that streak by lying about his identity to try to avoid arrest.”

Both Baker and Neal were arrested following the traffic stop. Baker was charged in relation to his outstanding arrest warrant and providing a false name to law enforcement, which landed him a $40,500 bond. Neal was charged with driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest.

Although, FCSO did not provide details as to how Neal received a resisting arrest charge in a release discussing Baker's arrest. She was given a bond of $1,000.

FCSO also mentioned that Baker will be jailed alongside his sister, 18-year-old Jimaya Baker, who was arrested back in April for the same incident.

“This entire group of criminals needs to be held without bond for the safety of our community,” added Sheriff Staly. “They need to be dealt with swiftly and sent to state prison for a long time before someone is killed.”

Jimaya remains in the Flagler County Jail, where she is held with no bond.
