'From The Dirt' Member Found Guilty Of First-Degree Murder

Daytona Beach, FL - A member of the "From the Dirt" group is found guilty of First-Degree Murder. A jury found 20-year-old Kevin Stokes guilty last Friday, in the July 9th, 2019 death of 19-year-old Daemon Carn.

Stokes was involved in a series of shootings over a two-day period in July 2019 over rap music and drugs. 

DBPD: Six Shootings Connected, Police Hunting For Suspect

Stokes was arrested in September 2019. Daytona Beach Police Chief Craig Capri said that Stokes used rental cars between the time of the shooting and when he was captured. That happened at the Sunoco gas station at Bill France and International Speedway boulevards.

18-Year-old Murder Suspect Captured, Two Other Suspects Caught

A sentencing date has not been scheduled but according to Florida law, first-degree murder is punishable by life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
