Daytona Beach, FL-Gas prices in Florida rose another 11 cents a gallon in the past week to a new average of $2.02 statewide for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded. Industry watchers say much of the recent spike can be traced back to the annual switchover from the winter blend to the summer blend of gas.
Greg Laskoski of Floridagasprices.com says we need to keep it in perspective. He points to a year ago when the same gallon of gas cost an average of $3.82.
Laskoski forecasts the jump in prices won't last and he expects prices to fall back to about $2 a gallon by the end of the year.
