Volusia County, FL - State troopers say a head-on collision on State Road 415 claimed the lives of two people Friday night (May 14).
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a white Hyundai Sonata piloted by a 22-year-old New Smyrna Beach woman was headed northbound in the southbound lanes of SR 415 around 11:00 that night for an unknown reason.
As the driver neared the intersection of SR 415 and Crestview Drive, they struck the front of a 2002 Chevy pickup truck driven by a 54-year-old Deltona man. Both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene.
Troopers say the investigation remains active and ongoing.
