FDOT District 5 To Hold Virtual Public Hearing

Tentative Five-Year Work Program To Be Discussed

DeLand, FL - A week-long virtual public hearing on the  Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) District 5 Tentative Five-Year Work Program begins on Monday, October 25, and continues through Friday, October 29. The purpose is to present the program, get public input,  and provide interested persons the opportunity to express their views on the information.

From FDOT: The Tentative Five-Year Work Program provides direction on where and when to build transportation system improvements for fiscal years 2022/2023 through 2026/2027. The program is used to forecast funds needed for improvements across all modes of transportation such as roadway, bicycle, pedestrian, freight, trails, transit, aviation, seaports, and spaceports

This work program provides proposed transportation projects for the nine (9) counties that form FDOT District Five, which include: Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia. Florida's Turnpike Enterprise projects are also included in the work program.

There are multiple ways for the community to take part in the hearings. No matter which platform you choose, each one will present the same information as seen on the website. 

Virtual Option: Interested persons may join the Virtual Public Hearing (VPH) from a computer, tablet, or mobile device. A VPH is a free live presentation or webinar over the internet. This online hearing will be open and available 24 hours a day for citizens to view and comment on project information at  www.fdot.gov/WPPH/District5.

In-Person Appointment: FDOT representatives are available during this week at the FDOT District Five Office, located at the address below. In-Person Open House Option: Participants may attend an in-person open house on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. by going to the FDOT District Five Office, located at 719 South Woodland Boulevard, DeLand, FL 32720.
