Bunnell, FL - $10,000. That’s how much is being offered for tips leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old’s murderer.
The investigation into Noah Smith’s death was initially handled by the Bunnell Police Department, but the job has since been handed over to Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO). Investigators say Smith was shot on Wednesday (Jan. 12) and later died at the hospital. His killer remains on the run.
Since Smith’s death, the FCSO has learned of multiple threats against the missing shooter and heard reports about people wanting to take matters into their own hands. Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said the sheriff’s office shares in everyone’s anger and sadness, but asks everyone to let investigators do their jobs.
“We are asking the community to let us conduct our investigation and allow us to get justice for the victim and his family,” said Staly. “Detectives are working around the clock to solve this murder which took a young man’s life, and we will not rest until his killer is brought to justice.”
At first the CrimeStoppers of Northeast Florida offered a reward of up to $5,000. But the FCSO announced on Friday (Jan. 14) that they’re adding another $5,000 into the pot. This combined reward now up to $10,000 could go to whoever’s tip leads to the arrest of Smith’s killer.
