Posted

Oak Hill, FL - Two teens are in critical condition and at least two others suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident early this morning (July 30) in Oak Hill.

Volusia Sheriff's deputies determined that there were seven juveniles in the car. When they arrived on the scene in the 100 block of West Halifax Avenue just after 3 a.m., two were entrapped in the vehicle. They were extricated and airlifted to area hospitals where they both are listed in critical condition. Two others were transported by ground for minor injuries.

The case has been handed over to the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit. Division Chief Brian Henderson said that "When serious bodily injury occurs where death MAY occur we ensure our experts (THI team) handle these cases as they can become very complex to reconstruct."

This is an active investigation and no charges are pending at this time.
