Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona State College already has an impressive online studies program, but instructors are working hard to make it even better.

More than 13,000 students took online classes during the 2015-2016 academic year, and according to Andrea Gibson, Chair of the Division of Online Studies, a lot of that success is down to the quality of the professors. "They're often collaborating with each other," said Gibson. "A lot of the people who teach the same course will get together once a semester to talk about what is working well and what isn't." By doing this, instructors learn what they need to focus on to help students get more out of the online classes they're taking.

According to Gibson, DSC already has a wealth of resources and students in the Online Studies Program will reap the benefits in the long run. In fact, DSC's Online Studies Program was recently ranked as one of the best in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report. Our earlier reporting on that story can be read here.
