Daytona Beach, FL - The World Center of Racing is now getting a direct connection to the Motor City.

Staff at Daytona Beach International Airport announced this morning (December 6th) that Delta Airlines, one of Daytona Beach's mainstay airlines, will add nonstop flights from Daytona Beach International Airport to Detroit Metro Airport. The first flight from DAB to DTW will take place on Valentine's Day (February 14th), followed by another flight on February 17th.

“Detroit is one of DAB’s largest inbound markets from the Midwest and Delta is responding by adding a non-stop flight for the Daytona 500.” said Airport Director Rick Karl.

Additionally, Delta will add another flight to Atlanta on February 16th, along with four additional DAB to ATL flights using larger aircraft on the 17th.

American Airlines, one of the other mainstay airlines at KDAB, will add one extra departure each day on February 14th and 15th and two extra departures on February 17th.

Including the increased seats because of the new mainline Airbus A319 being added in January for one of its daily flights, American’s seat availability on the 13th and 14th will be up more than 50% each day, according to the airport, and on the 16th, capacity will increase to more than 300 seats, compared to 2019.

According to Director Rick Karl, American will also resume its nonstop service from Daytona Beach to LaGuardia Airport in New York City starting in January.  That service ended at the end of November. The service was extended back in March of this year after American became satisfied over the performance of their daily flights to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
