Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police (DBPD) are investigating a stabbing that happened at the Sea Dip Beach Resort today (June 3) around 6:40 a.m.  Officers found a man in one of the motel rooms with seven stab wounds in his left leg. He was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim told investigators that a woman had stabbed him, then fled the scene. DBPD says they don't have a positive ID on the woman but say they have a general idea of who she is.  A description of the suspect is not available at this time but is expected to be released later today.

The man fired two shots during the attack, which went through the wall into an adjacent room that was occupied. No one in that room was injured.

DBPD says the attack does not appear to be domestic violence-related.
