Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police (DBPD) identify 48-year-old Carlo Eberhardt and 39-year-old Kristi Ellis as the two people arrested on Saturday during the Daytona Truck Meet after a victim was shot in the arm.

DBPD Captures Shooter Quickly After Road Rage Incident

According to the arrest reports, the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Ellis has been identified as the driver of the Nissan four door involved by witnesses who also told DBPD that the shooter was a bald black male wearing a t-shirt and jeans.

Eberhardt's and Ellis's version of the story is heavily redacted but the victim's, who is pressing charges, is not. The male victim who was driving a truck was traveling southbound on A-1-A near Harvard Drive when he noticed the Nissan traveling next to him. The car suddenly sped up and cut the victim off. He responded by honking his horn and cursing at them.

The victim continued driving when he saw the Nissan again traveling beside him with the female driver brandishing a handgun while screaming at him out the window. Traffic stopped and Eberhardt got out of the car and approached the victim's truck holding a handgun. He rapped the truck's window several times with the gun. The victim said he got out and pushed the gun away before hitting Eberhardt in the face at least two times.

The victim said Eberhardt raised the gun and pointed it directly at him, which is when he turned away. He heard aloud pop and realized he'd been shot in the arm.

According to the report "Partial video the shooting was captured on witness's cell phones and was collected and submitted as evidence by units on scene. Units viewed the footage and observed that Eberhardt had a firearm in his hand prior to the shooting. Eberhardt was observed shoving the victim which initiated the altercation and he appeared to be the primary aggressor. The video does not show the victim holding anything in his hands during the altercation."

Eberhardt and Ellis are still in the Volusia County Jail. Eberhardt's bond is set at $62,500 and Ellis's is $25,000. Both are charged with child neglect. DCF was notified and took custody of the child.
