Daytona State Campuses Locked Down Over Potential Threat

UPDATE (1:21 PM EST): After finding all campuses to be safe, Daytona State College learned through other state agencies that similar threats were sent to other institutions with no incidents.

UPDATE (11:33 AM EST): The Daytona Beach Police Department confirms that the investigation into the bomb threat has ended, but the campus will remain closed for the rest of the day.

UPDATE (11:16 AM EST): An update from Daytona State Colleges says they received "a very specific threat that entailed shooting and explosives." DSC is currently working with local authorities to assess and clear the campuses.

UPDATE (10:51 AM EST): Messod Bendayan, public information officer for the Daytona Beach Police Department, confirmed that the Daytona Beach campus has been evacuated due to a reported bomb threat.

The public is urged to avoid the area.

Daytona Beach, FL - All Daytona State Campuses are closed until further notice.

An email from the college was sent out around 10:15 Friday (January 22nd) morning, calling for the evacuation and lockdown of all Daytona State campuses.
