Daytona Beach, FL - One of the top news publishers in the United States ranks Daytona Beach as one of the best places to live and retire in the nation.

That's according to the U.S. News & World Report's list of the "125 Best Places to Live in the USA," which ranks the World's Most Famous Beach at #99.

This list is made off of five different indexes: job market, value, quality of life, desirability and net migration.

Each index carries a different weight when it comes to making the rankings. For example, the quality of life index counts for 30% of the total score while net migration counts for 10%.

According to the list, Daytona earns it ranking thanks to almost year-round warm temperatures, golf, beach driving, fish and racing.

U.S. News also mentioned that life in Daytona is "balanced' thanks to the city's museums, theaters, performing arts centers, markets, restaurants and colleges, making Daytona a "well rounded" metropolitan area.

Out of a possible score of 10, Daytona scored 6.1. Austin, Texas, which came in at #1, scored 7.6.

Daytona wasn't the only Florida city that made the list. In fact, Daytona ranked higher than Miami, which was ranked at #113.

The other Florida cities include Port St. Lucie at 73rd, Orlando at 63rd, Tampa at 56th, Jacksonville at 42nd and Sarasota at 18th.

Daytona Beach was also named one of the best places to retire by the same organization. That came from their other listing, "100 Best Places to Retire in the USA," which had Daytona at #13.
