Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach police are investigating a drive-by shooting that shut down a portion of International Speedway Boulevard yesterday (Nov. 15). They responded to a home at the corner of ISB and Lanvale Avenue at 5:20 p.m.

Police found a man and a woman standing outside the home. The woman had her shirt lifted and a gunshot wound was seen near the left side of her pelvic area.

The woman was inside the house when she was hit by a bullet that came through the window. The man said he was in the backyard when he heard approximately six gunshots. A neighbor had called 9-1-1 prior to police arrival complaining about six shots being fired.

Police established a crime scene shutting down ISB in both directions near the home for more than an hour. They found eight shell casings in the westbound lanes, across the street from the house. Several bullet impact holes were discovered, including one on the farthest east side window, which entered the home, hitting the victim.

DBPD has not released the name of a suspect or suspects but according to the incident report, the man told them he thinks he knows who did the shooting. He told police that he and the possible suspect have an ongoing disagreement over a woman.

At this time, no one physically saw the shooting. The investigation is open and anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact DBPD.
