Daytona Beach Shores, FL - The search for the woman who left the scene of a crash that injured a pedestrian in Daytona Beach Shores is over.

A report from the Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety (DBSDPS) confirms the arrest of Lauren Meyers, who police had been searching for since Wednesday (Jan. 19). Meyers was identified the following day, but police said she was not cooperating in the investigation and believed she had left the area.

Meyers was arrested on Saturday (Jan. 22), three days after the incident. On Wednesday, Meyers was leaving the parking lot of a Winn Dixie on Atlantic Avenue when she t-boned another car. That car spun out and struck a Votran bus sign that fell and hit the head of a man who was standing next to his wife.

The man suffered a serious head injury and was hospitalized. He remains hospitalized as of Sunday (Jan. 23). News Daytona Beach has also learned that his wife also suffered minor injuries because of the incident.

Surveillance footage led police to identify Meyers as the driver. They later found her vehicle—a black Nissan Rogue—unoccupied at her residence. The circumstances surrounding her arrest are unknown at this time. At this time, Meyers is charged with leaving the scene of a crash causing injury and tampering with evidence. She remains in custody on a $10,000 bond.
