Volusia and Flagler Counties, FL - CareerSourceFV hopes to be the area's leader when it comes to providing employment and training solutions to the business and workforce of Volusia and Flagler Counties.

An emphasis is being placed on giving all individuals access to workforce services, and to meet this end the organization is calling for increased partnerships with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Division of Blind Services and providers of Adult Literacy programs (DSC and Flagler County Schools) as core partners.

Services are provided in 3 Career Centers in Orange City, Palm Coast, and Daytona Beach.

CareerSourceFV's plan is based on the current and future needs of local businesses. CareerSourceFV has worked with local economic development organizations and local area chambers of commerce to identify the top in-demand industries in the area, and will focus the programs efforts on those sectors.

The top in-demand sectors in Flagler and Volusia Counties for 2016-2020 are: Health Care (7% growth rate), Management of Companies and Enterprises (16% growth rate), Finance and Insurance (12% growth rate), Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services (10% growth rate), Educational Services (10% growth rate), Leisure and Hospitality (6% growth rate), Logistics (4% growth rate), Construction (4% growth rate), Retail Trade (4% growth rate), and Manufacturing (3% growth rate). Over the next year strategies will be developed by CareerSourceFV and its Board of Directors to best serve these sectors.

The industries that are anticipated to gain the most jobs in the area between now and 2020 are: Health Care and Social Assistance (2,352), Accommodation and Food Service (676), Administrative and Support and Waste Management (626), Retail Trade (516), Government (506), Construction (368), Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services (327), Finance and Insurance (299), Education (281), and Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation (268).

The fastest growing jobs in the area are: Cement Masons and Concrete Finishers (39.38% growth rate, $17.01 median hourly wage), Home Health Aides (38.87% growth rate, $10.92 median hourly wage), Physical Therapist Assistants (37.5% growth rate, $30.62 median hourly wage), Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (37.13% growth rate, $30.63 median hourly wage), Helpers - Electricians (34.86% growth rate, $12.32 median hourly wage), Market Research Analysts and Marketing Specialists (34.43% growth rate, $27.42 median hourly wage), Personal Care Aides (33.78% growth rate, $9.46 median hourly wage), Cost Estimators (33.59% growth rate, $23.74 median hourly wage), Physician Assistants (33.16% growth rate, 49.94 median hourly wage), and Drywall and Ceiling Tile Installers (31.38% growth rate, $13.77 median hourly wage).
