'Primp Your Pit' Offers Low Cost Spaying & Neutering

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL–The Halifax Humane Society, Inc. announced their spring spay and neuter promotion, Primp Your Pit.

Pitbull owners residing within Volusia County, FL have the opportunity to have their pets spayed or neutered for only $25. The co-pay covers the cost, associated with rabies vaccines and micro-chipping, which are included at time of surgery. Spay and neuter surgery is 100% subsidized thanks to a grant for more than $55,000 from PetSmart Charities, the leading funder of animal welfare in North America.

Primp Your Pit will run throughout April & May, 2017 and appointment space is limited. The promotion is only applicable to owned animals regardless if adopted through Halifax Humane Society, Inc. or elsewhere. All surgeries will be performed at Halifax Humane Society Inc.’s off-site Redinger Spay & Neuter Clinic, located 600 Mason Ave #150, Daytona Beach, FL.

The goal for Halifax Humane Society, Inc. and PetSmart Charities is to continue to make low-cost spay and neuter services both available and accessible to animal owners across our community, who otherwise would not be able to afford such services.

Spay and neuter is the key to curving pet overpopulation across Volusia County. Spaying and neutering is also one of the most effective ways to reduce the homeless pet population and is safe for puppies and kittens as young as 8 to 10 weeks old, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.

“PetSmart Charities is thrilled to continue working with the Halifax Humane Society, Inc. to help pets and pet parents in need in Volusia County,” said Sima Thakkar, regional relationship manager at PetSmart Charities. “By supporting spay/neuter efforts operated by passionate animal welfare organizations like theirs, we hope to reduce pet homelessness across the country.”

With the help of animal welfare partners, such as Halifax Humane Society, Inc., PetSmart Charities has funded over 1.4 million spay and neuter surgeries in the U.S. since 2009.
